Day 2 - Shake It Up

Four years ago, I accepted the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge and promised my friend Liz Blom (AdvoCare Superlady) that I would blog about my experience.  Our goal for blogging was to talk about day to day challenges, new discoveries and the overall program. I think the last time I did this challenge, I was really focused on breaking a bunch of bad habits (love of Diet Coke, Candy Corn and Candy Hearts) and making it through the day without sticking my face in a bag of sugar.

During those 24 days, I ate a lot of familiar foods and played it safe, like salads and chicken breast and grilled vegetables, just to stay on the straight and narrow.  For instance, I think I tried the AdvoCare meal replacement shake only once the last time. I remember having quite a few packets left over when it was over.  Well, this morning, I made one (the chocolate flavor) for breakfast and it was the most delicious thing I have ever had...or for sure in the past 2 days. I made it with almond milk, a banana and a bunch of spinach. Sweet Mary, that thing was fantastic!

I have never really been a drink your meal kind of lady (drink a bunch of calories in adult beverages...in that case, guilty as charged), but I think I am going to give a few new things a try. Why not, right? I've got 22 days left, so why not shake things up a bit?

In fact, tomorrow, I am going straight up smoothie for breakfast. An old friend offered up a recipe, so I am going to give it a shot.

And, in honor of trying new things (and not having adult beverages during this challenge), I decided to serve my shake up in a pint glass this morning. 

Ok...everyone raise your glass. Here's to old friends, challenges that make us stronger and delicious new discoveries.

1st thing in the morning breakfastAdvoCare Herbal Cleanse Fiber Drink and Advocare Catalyst and water
Breakfast - AdvoCare Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake (mix with almond milk, ice cubes, banana and spinach)
Snack - Carrots and Spicy Red Pepper Hummus and AdvoCare Orange Spark
Lunch - Ezekiel raisin cinnamon toasted with almond butter and apple sandwich
Snack - Wasabi almonds and cucumber slices and AdvoCare Orange Spark
Dinner - Thai chicken soup - chicken broth, chicken, curry, garlic, spinach, mushrooms, tomato, cilantro and brown rice 
With dinner  - AdvoCare OmegaPlex
****I am right here in my day and am not sure what is going to happen.  Maybe eat some fruit or something.  Who knows? Maybe drinks some tea.
