Day 5 - Looking at the Positive

In just about any situation, you have to take the good with the bad.  For instance, my daughter played in the state basketball tournament today.  Did they win to go on to play tomorrow?  No, they didn't, but now we get to sleep in tomorrow morning.  Did they lose?  Yes, but it was still really fun to watch her and her team play.  Were we at the games ALL DAY long?  Yes, but an old friend showed up at one of the games to watch my daughter play, and it meant so much to our whole family.

See, that is what we are going to do.  We are going to flip the script and make the things that seem bad into something positive.  Ok, so let's do that some more and we can apply it to the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge.  Ok, here we go...

The Challenge - We grilled out last night and you could feel spring in the air.  It just seemed like I should have a glass of wine to celebrate.  I did not, but really wanted one.
The positive part  - Oh, my word, what a difference a Saturday morning makes when you are on a cleanse.  I woke up so refreshed this morning.  The sun was shining beautifully and it was already in the 30's by mid morning.  No fog (in my head).

The Challenge - Today, my daughter played in the state basketball tournament.  As soon as I walked in the doors...BOOM...concession stand.  I LOVE Skittles.  While I was taking this photo, I noticed the concession stand ladies lookin' at me kind of funny.  They were wondering why I was taking pictures of the delicious candy.  I told them that I am on a cleanse.
The positive part - Concession stand lady #1 told me that she had recently done a cleanse and that she could only eat veggies and fruits for the first 10 days.  After 10 days, she could start to incorporate fish and chicken into her diet.  My daughter might not have won her game, but I won the cleanse game.  I WON THE CLEANSE GAME.  I was tempted to flip out my phone and show her my blog from yesterday, so she could see all of the healthy, delicious food I had eaten, but I didn't.  Maybe I should have though and then the next time she does a cleanse, she could do this one.

The Challenge - We were on the run all day. 3 basketball games from late morning to evening. That means eating on the run.
The positive part - This sandwich.  Let me repeat...this sandwich.  It is a Subway turkey sandwich loaded with veggies on wheat bread.  That was like a big vegetable party sandwich.  I will return and eat that again.
