Day 6 - I've Looked Nachos Dead in the Eye and Said No

My weekend in review...

I have survived happy hours, dinners eating out and team parties (and I love all of these things).  I have not had coffee or Diet Coke for 6 days. I love coffee in the morning and LOVE to have a nice, tasty Diet Coke on a Saturday afternoon.  There have been concession stands within reach with money to spend. I have looked nachos dead in the eye and said no, and I have lived to tell about it.

Has it been easy?  Oh, hail NO.  Is it Sunday night and am I sad or regret that I didn't eat those Skittles at the concession stand (no), or loaded bake potato dip at the team party (no), or a delicious glass of red wine on Friday night (yes).  I mean NO! I am here and I am fine.  I have decided to commit to something for 24 days (the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge), and so far, so good.  Again, is it easy?  Not all of the time.  But, then some of the time it is and I feel SO good!

I have to admit that I accidentally skipped a mid morning snack today and I FELT IT.  I was what you refer to as "hangry" (combination of hungry and angry - maybe you already knew that).  My daughter gets hangry.  I know the signs.  We all know the signs.  In fact, my 14 year old diagnosed me as hangry.  After I gave him a long, penetrating stare, I ate lunch and was better.  I made sure that I had an afternoon snack.  In fact, I split my AdvoCare chocolate shake with him.  He LOVES the AdvoCare shakes.  In fact, we just ordered Vanilla and Mint Chocolate Brownie and can't wait for it to arrive.

So, did I learn something today?  Yes, eat stuff.  It makes you less hangry.  And if you are eating vegetables or fruit, don't hold back.

Do I know why they call this thing a challenge?  Yes, I do.  Now, let's go get Monday!  Wahoo!
